Summary:
Centrally located mid-century oasis with large private, heated pool in fenced-in backyard, nicely decorated living spaces as well as a remote-work and workout area. Quiet back yard features grill, fire pit and outdoor furniture to relax and enjoy the minimalistic desert garden with pool. Desired Highland Vista neighborhood offers mountain views and is great for strolls, runs and house watching. Easy access to everything Tucson has to offer.
The Space:
The house offers three bedrooms, one with a king bed and ensuite bathroom, and two bedrooms with queen beds and a shared bathroom. All beds have a 12-inch hybrid mattress with cooling gel and memory foam lumbar support as well as different pillows to meet your sleeping preferences.
The living room features a separate dining area as well as a lounge space with a wood-burning fireplace and a TV with access to streaming services. The kitchen is fully equipped with tableware, cooking utensils, coffee maker, microwave, blender, filtered water from the fridge, etc.
There is a designated work area/desk in the spacious kitchen with a laser printer as well as a mini-gym with light weights, a yoga mat, and a TV with free on-demand exercise classes.
Outdoor is a large covered porch with a dining table and lounge chairs, adjacent to the kitchen. The large pool is heated in the colder months, maintained year-round and regularly tested. There are sun chairs and a fire pit surrounded by a minimalistic desert garden. A grill and propane gas are also included. The entire backyard is fully fenced-in .
Guest Access:
The house is entirely available to guests, except for the garage and pool pump area.
The Neighborhood:
The house is part of the mid-century Highland Vista neighborhood, which is a safe a quaint area, ideal for strolls or short runs. A park with a large yard and playground is close-by. There is a street next to the side of the house with some traffic, which can be heard in the backyard but it's not a main road and the presence of the birds is more apparent than the street behind the fence.
Getting Around:
Highland Vista Park
Right around the corner on 7th Street, you’ll find Highland Vista Park. It’s a great area for a walk, house watching, or for children to play.
Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort
Great place for lunch, dinner or brunch. Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountain Range, Hacienda Del Sol is a relaxing refuge with breathtaking views.
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
A must-see in Tucson. This is not only a beautiful park but a zoo, botanical garden, art gallery and history museum in one. I highly recommend it.
North Italia
Excellent place and a favorite among locals for Italian food. They also offer outdoor seating and takeout.
Modern furniture
If you appreciate modern furniture, you’ll like AZ Modern. It’s a bit pricey but has a really nice selection of mid-century furniture. Some more affordable bargains, you can find at one of Tom’s Furniture store locations.
Groceries
My close-by favorites are Sprouts Farmers Market and Trader Joe's. If you need a larger store, Fry’s is pretty close and has everything you’d need.
Crave Coffee Bar
If you like picking up your special brew, check out this cute coffee shop with excellent coffee varieties and pastries.
Tucson Laundry Center on Swan
About one block away is the Tucson laundry center. It is clean and I recommend it if you need to do laundry during your stay. They also offer a convenient drop-off service.
Outside of Tucson
About a 45 min car ride away, you’ll find cute Tubac. The little village features art galleries and lots of neat stores to explore. It’s particularly well known for ceramics and desert art. Other interesting places are Tombstone (old wild west town) and Bisbee (an artsy get-way town close to the border of Mexico).
